A native of England, he spent his childhood in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District walking the mountains and hills with his family. At the ripe age of 8, Peter began kayaking and soon proceeded through the British Canoe Union syllabus. By his early 20’s he was instructing in Bavaria and the Hertz Mountains in Germany on both white water and flat water. Like how he got back in the boat at 2:51. Gotta try that. Looked he took on more water than if he had slithered up back behind his cockpit but the rescuer could have held the empty boat a little tighter and kept it from rolling so much when the guy levered himself in.

That was a re-entry and roll. I dont think you could slide up the rear deck of a kayak in the conditions that put you in the water in the first place.
If your a solo regular then it’s important to be self-sufficient and be able to re-enter and roll but in rough seas it’s not always easy. Do practise cos it could save your life one day.

Both boats look like P&H Capellas. His paddle looks like a Werner Shuna. Gel coat is cheap.

“Surf” is a bit of a misnomer, most of the waves are ankle to knee high.
