Choose And Buy The Right Old Town Kayak.

I have recently started Kayaking and i am looking for a good GPS navigation system ?

that is portable and waterproof and contains charts of coastal waters in US and Canada. Would appreciate hearing from anyone that has used a GPS system for Kayaking and can recommend a model

   Consumer Reports has the Garmin eTrex Venture HC on electronics gift list in the most recent issue. The eTrex HC is water proof and has about 10 hours of battery life. The display doesnt wash out in bright sun light. The Garmin eTrex Venture also has a calendar which include the cycles of the moon for hunting fishing and tides. It can also track speed and distanced traveled.
   It’s great as a hunting GPS, Camping and Hiking GPS or Kyaking GPS.
   I have the older version and plan on upgrading if I don’t get a new one for Christmas.
