		<description>No they aren't proper life jackets. These are whats known as bouyancy aids and its perfectly safe. Every kayaker uses them and they do provide the bouyancy which keeps you up when your out of the boat but in no way trap you inside it upside down. 

All you have to worry about is making sure when you do kayaking etc. you only wear bouyancy aids and not life jackets. Real life jackets could cause problems but an aid like this is perfectly fine.</description>
