3 Golden Rules
March 24th, 2012 |The three golden rules are three key concepts that apply to every kind of paddling. In this short instructional video, expert paddler Ken Whiting shows you how to use a cooperative division of the body for key kayak strokes and for kayak rolling; how to maintain a power position to improve paddling strength and help prevent shoulder injuries; and how to achieve torso rotation in order to get your core upper body muscles involved in each stroke instead of just your arms. These rules apply to all types of paddling, including sea kayaking, surf paddling, kayak touring, recreational kayaking and whitewater kayaking.

HD Sea Kayak Fishing
March 18th, 2012 |Footage of catching, cleaning, and cooking a number of salmon over the course of a summer. I’m certainly not an expert… but I do enjoy it. Catching a salmon from a sea kayak is an incredible experience. You feel every wave, every tug on the line. It can be tireing; it can be exilerating. Paddling into off-shore rock gardens at first light… cruising along empty shorelines. Primarily, I use a Shimano trolling reel, on a shortened, stiff rod. It is also possible to use a simple handline (fishing line wrapped around a stick). Since most of my fishing is done while on multi-day trips, I am generally using artificial lures (hoochies or buzz bombs). Please, respect the fish. Follow local fishing guidelines. Buy a fishing license. Catch only what you can eat. Shot with a Go-Pro HD Kayak fish kayak fishing kayak fish kayak trolling shimano salmon rockfish fish hook barb splash Blessed be,

Inno INA450 Kayak Rack Review Video & Demonstration
March 15th, 2012 |www.orsracksdirect.com Inno INA450 Kayak Rack review video & demo by ORS Racks Direct. Demonstration movie of the Inno Racks INA450 Kayak Carrier features. A very innovative kayak rack that combines the great features of both a kayak stacker and a j-cradle style kayak carrier. Includes two upright kayak stacker posts that allow you to stack multiple kayaks on their sides next to each other. And also includes two sets of Inno INA451 Cradles, which mimic a j-cradle carrier that keeps each kayak stationary and place. This frees up both hands for strapping down the kayak or kayaks. The Inno INA-450 kayak rack is compatible with virtually all factory racks as well as any aftermarket roof rack system crossbars from Inno Racks, Thule Racks, Yakima Racks etc. The pair of upright kayak stacker posts can also fold ddown when not in use. Very handy for pulling into a garage and also provides a nice clean look when not hauling your boats.

getting off a surfski in emergency with Oscar Chalupsky and Epic Kayaks
March 6th, 2012 |After you have mastered the remounting technique we take this skill a step further. This skill is very useful when you need to check or clear your rudder or in case you need to assist a fellow paddler from the water. It is important to note that we always use leg or paddle leashes in open water although we didn’t include them in these swimming pool videos. We did that on purpose in order to simplify the learning process. Later on we will add on videos of these techniques performed in more challenging open water environment and demonstrating the use of leg and paddle leash. Enjoy!

Powered kayak - Introduction to the Lean ‘N’ Steer® powered kayak
February 25th, 2012 |Lean ‘N’ Steer® powered kayak introduction - A true small powerboat that can be handled by just one person. Quick and easy to unload, set up, and operate without assistance. Perfect for fishermen, photographers, birders, naturalists, cruising, or just having fun. A powerboat - but can still be paddled like a recreational kayak. Unlike jon boats, canoes, inflatables, folding boats, and other powered kayaks, is lighter, stronger, easier to transport and use, offers below deck protected storage, and is built to last a lifetime. Stable and safe, with 10-13 mph top speed on only 2 hp, with 40 - 48 mpg economy. Tough, strong, and durable due to our very high impact composite construction. Doesn’t warp in the sun like cheap “roto molded” boats, yet not brittle like other fiberglass - Kevlar®, carbon fiber boats. Not pretty, but tough. We expect you to use these boats. Can be transported on any car with a roof rack. For more information: LeanNSteerkayaks, com or Poweredkayak.net production credits: video production, music © Scott A.
