Freedom Kayak demo
January 20th, 2012 |A demo put on by Freedom Kayaks. December 17, 2009. See their website at www.freedomkayaks.com From the website Freedom Kayaks are adaptive kayaks that are made for someone with a challenge but not limited too. Freedoms unique patent pending retractable sponsons are engineered (molded) into the kayak to give the atmosphere of just another kayak in the water and these adaptations do not hinder the true kayaking experience in performance and function. Freedoms mission simply put, is 100% independence in the water, giving the paddler the option to ask for a hand in re-entering his/her kayak not requiring it. In the past to re-entry ones kayak you need in some capacity the use of you legs, that is just that in the past.

January 2nd, 2012 |40+ MPG Lean N Steer ® Power Kayak Introduction (short version)
December 30th, 2011 |Lean ‘N’ Steer® powered kayak introduction - A true small powerboat that can be handled by just one person. Quick and easy to unload, set up, and operate without assistance. Perfect for fishermen, photographers, birders, naturalists, cruising, or just having fun. A powerboat - but can still be paddled like a recreational kayak. Unlike jon boats, canoes, inflatables, folding boats, and other powered kayaks, is lighter, stronger, easier to transport and use, offers below deck protected storage, and is built to last a lifetime. Stable and safe, with 10-13 mph top speed on only 2 hp, with 40 - 48 mpg economy. Tough, strong, and durable due to our very high impact composite construction. Doesn’t warp in the sun like cheap “roto molded” boats, yet not brittle like other fiberglass - Kevlar®, carbon fiber boats. Not pretty, but tough. We expect you to use these boats. Can be transported on any car with a roof rack. For more information: LeanNSteerkayaks, com or Poweredkayak.net production credits: video production, music © Scott A. How To Self Rescue While Kayaking Video
December 29th, 2011 |www.rei.com Brad, an REI Outdoor School instructor, demonstrates in the video how to do a self rescue after your kayak capsizes. After you’ve done your wet exit (see related video) get hold of your paddle and your boat so the wind doesn’t take them away. Get your paddle float, which you stored in an easily accessible place. Put one leg into the submerged cockpit so that you can keep both hands free without your boat getting away from you. Inflate the paddle float and slide its sleeve over the paddle blade and secure it to the paddle shaft with its clips. Now flip your kayak back over by reaching under the water and pulling the far combing towards yourself while pushing on the near-side combing. Position your paddle perpendicular across the boat, with the paddle float acting as an outrigger. Give a kick and pull yourself up, keeping your weight low and spread between the boat and the paddle float outrigger. Pump out the water using your bilge pump and put the spray skirt back on the cockpit combing. You’re all set to go!
