Choose And Buy The Right Old Town Kayak.

I just bought this kayak and am planning to fish from it. Is is possible for me to paddle around and fish in the ocean with it? (im not going to go very far) Im only concerned about possible damage/the differences between fresh and saltwater.

Ok I am a seasoned river guide for rafting and have recently tried out kayaking. I own 2 older kayaks an Old Time Otter and a Perception. I would like to get out and run some of the trips with my company in my kayak but not real sure wich boat would be better suited to the river in and around Durango. I am pretty confidant in my skills in both boats, but have heard I need a creek boat also. The Otter I think is a little to much boat to run through some of the rapids and has a tendency to punch down and throughthe waves as where the Perception likes to hit the waves and launch over them. What would you all use for bigger Class III and IV. Remember I cannot afford a creek boat this season.
Sorry the Perception is an old Ultra Clean. Also dont be to hard on my Otter, I have ran IV’s in it. And it does have flotation bulk heads front and rear. also has the foot pegs and better seat, with thigh support. FYI.

Ok, i’m getting a Sevylor Colorado Canoe for fishing. I don’t know if it’s the right one… There are a lot to choose from like the Sevylor Rio Canoe, or the regular fishing/hunting one..
