Does anyone know where I can get pink kayaking gloves? Every place I’ve looked they are either black or grey, and manly looking. lol. The only place I found pink ones was for a charity and you had to buy at least 5 pairs… which I only need 1 pair. Any ideas on where to find some? Thanks.

I own a rather large Kayak which happends to be pretty long. I live in a small one bedroom apt with sharp turns and it is literaly impossible to put the Kayak in any other room save the living room. In my living room the only place to put the Kayak is up on a wall. I was wondering if anyone knows how to mount a kayak to drywall? I would like to get my 0 deductable on my apt at the end of my lease so I would like to try to keep the walls intact if possile. One way or another though I need to mount this kayak so even if the mounting makes large holes in the drywall I would still like to hear them. Thanks!

I want a top that will keep me dry while kayaking in rough water and ideally when rolling. I also want to be able to use it sailing to stay dry in heavy wind and big chop. Low budget too :). Will a semi-dry top do the trick? or will it let in a ton of water when rolling a kayak or capsizing a sailboat?
thanks! and happy adventures!

www.orsracksdirect.com Yakima HullRaiser kayak rack review video & demo by ORS Racks Direct. Demonstration movie of the Yakima Racks 8004039 HullRaiser car rooftop kayak rack, an instant classic and the kayak carrier that started the j-cradle craze. Includes Yakima snap-arounds so it fits Yakima roof rack round crossbars and square bars from Thule, Inno etc. (Choose the Yakima HullRaiser Aero kayak rack model if mounting on factory rack crossbars, or you can purchase Yakima Universal Mighty Mounts separately for use with the regular Hullraiser to connect to factory rack bars.) Simple to install and quick and easy to load any kayak, universally works with ocean / sea kayaks, recreational kayaks, river / whitewater kayaks and more. Cradles kayak on its side and uses up much less crossbar space than kayak carriers that transport the boat laying flat, allowing you to fit multiple Yakima HullRaiser kayak racks without having to use longer car rack cross bars. Generous padding on kayak cradles fully protect boat and cradle it snugly. Includes pair of kayak straps with buckle protectors and a pair of bow & stern tie-downs.

I am looking at buying a personal watercraft for fishing this upcoming next year, and I see two options: the first is that I buy a kayak, which I am very sketical about, as I heard they flip easy, and people have drowned in them before around my area, so my parents are shooting that idea down as well. There is also the possibility of a SOT kayak, which I heard is more stable and would likely fit my 6 foot 4 inch frame more. Bottom Line is i dont want to flip, as I may be fishing in water during winter months and I dont want to die lol or lose my gear. The second option I have been contemplating, is something called a White River Paddlefish Pontoon Boat, which looks to be VERY stable and should not flip at all. It is even said to be corrosion resistant, which is good because I will be using it down in Rudee Inlet at Virginia Beach… Does anyone know how well it would fare in salt water, or if it is prone to flipping or tipping?? or should i just settle with a SOT kayak? Please help!!

Here I am demonstrating a technique for carving minicell foam with an angle grinder. I am making a seat for my sea kayak, but you could use the same technique to make just about anything out of foam. The angle grinder is the key, but you must use it with control. You may have noticed some gouges across my seat - that is from an out of control grinder, before I mastered my technique. It is probably a good idea to practice on some scrap before committing yourself as I did. Anyway, you will notice that I pivot the grinder about the handle which I have in my left hand against the foam to keep it stationary. Trying to freehand it was too hard to control. You can make nice sweeping arcs, removing small amounts of material as you go. Some patience is required, but it really doesn’t take that long. I think it took me about 20 minutes to grind the seat, plus about 5 minutes of sanding with an orbital sander with a 50 grit disc to remove any unevenness left by the grinder. You are left with a nice velvety texture which is perfect for a kayak seat. Just a cautionary note, make sure to wear eye protection. A dust mask and earplugs are also good ideas
