I am taking a cruise and Curacao is one of the ports-of-call. We can’t decide whether to mountain bike or kayak. Has anyone been to Curacao to recommend one over the other? Is the view of the shoreline more beautiful than biking through the island? Any other suggestions for a must-see in Curacao?

Canoeing the Nantahala River in a lake canoe without airbags or floatation of any kind. Yes, we did this by choice (feel free to voice your opinions). We ran the entire river without incident until we hit Nantahala Falls. We were able to run the falls but got swamped. Got sucked into a horrible line through the falls. We then wrapped the canoe around a rock about 40 feet below the falls and sank the canoe. Took us over an hour to retrieve the canoe. Music - Suicidal Tendencies - You Cant Bring Me Down

What is the best kayak to get?
Ok I have kayaked before but basically you can call me a beginner. I am looking to use the kayak for multiple things, not just fishing or small paddles. I would use it for fishing, long trips, short trips but moslty in the bay/ocean because I dont have any rivers/lakes where I live. Now what I need in a kayak is storage space, great stability in waves, enough room to be comfortable for long voyages and faster if possible. What kayak based on my needs would be suitable for me. Also I want to keep the price lower than 1500. I know some of these things can caost around 5 grand. It can be made out of plastic, kevlar, wood but I dont and inflatable ones. Hope you can help. Me and my friends/family have been Kayaking a couple of times in a class 2 river and we want to find something a little more challenging (not too dangerous).
I have been looking at rivers close to north Texas and can only find a couple of decent ones with good rapids. I need advice on a good river with a steady flow and a decent amount of rapids.
We want to be on the river for close to 3-5 hours.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated !!
