A short video of the Accudock 5 X 8 Kayak floating dock used by two persons with a two man kayak - showing its stability with two adults. This particular kayak dock is our most inexpensive floating dock available that still provides stability to safely enter and exit your kayak. This video also demonstrates the “paddle technique” which uses the oar to stabilize the kayak upon entry and exit - so that it is next to impossible to tip the kayak. The dock can be left in the water, or removed by one person and stored upon the dock - an inexpensive choice for the situations which do not allow the owner to install a permanent floating dock - and provides the added benefit of being able to use the kayak dock as a working platform - to clean, wax or repair a boat on a lift or next to the dock.

I used to ocean kayak…I stopped a year ago because I was afraid that my disc herniation problem would become worse. My condition never really got worse from kayaking but from other things. My question is, is anybody out there kayaking with a lumbar disc problem? Do you have a bad experience with this sport?

I’ve been canoeing a lot, but the canoe places are telling me we should go kayaking and that they don’t even have as many canoes now because people prefer kayaking. I always thought kayaking was weird. I’ve never been I just want peeps to have fun!

I went kayaking for my first time yesterday, and it was SO much fun! But I didn’t put enough sun block on, and i got sunburned so badly that i couldn’t go to school today. my knees are so sore - they’re stiff as! - and i don’t know whether it is because of being in the inflatable boat thing or sunburn. i was sitting with my legs outstretched when i wasn’t sitting cross legged.
please help - it burns!

I’m debating between 2 kayaks; the major difference is that one of them has raised sides (like a canoe, I think the storeperson called it cockpit style?) and one of them does not (sit-on style?). Which one is better to use in a sound? Why?
The area we’d use it in is shallow (about chest height water) with small waves.

Beyond Reality - Amazing Race 15 Recap 11/22/09 Last time on the Race Gary & Matt were eliminated from the Race. Teams must travel by plane from Estonia to Prague in the Czech Republic. Once in Prague they must find the old town square & get a clue from a guy in an old Praga. All teams were on the same two flights to Riga, Latvia & then to Prague. Teams must then travel to Kayaky Troya where there is a fast or slow Detour. In fast & furious teams must navigate a whitewater raft course in a kayak & grab their clue. In slow & steady teams must pull themselves across an overhead ropes course that was grueling. Sam & Dan were the only team to pick the Kayaks but switched over after the 3rd unsuccessful try. The clues were Divaske & Divadlo which led them to the Estates Theater. Roadblock - at the theater one member had to search the seats for a tiny hidden mandolin & present to the actor playing Don Giovanni for the next clue. Pit stop - Prague Castle 1 - Meghan & Cheyne - won a trip for 2 to Hawaii. 2 - Sam & Dan. 3 - The Globetrotters. 4 - Brian & Ericka came in last place but its a non-elimination leg so next time they will have to perform a speed bump to stay in the race. Next time - Prague after dark & Sam & Dan continue to be bitches.

A group of friends and I want to go kayaking pretty soon on Town Lake in Austin. It happens to be that none of us are very experienced at kayaking. Can anyone give me some tips on what to bring, the average time expected to on the lake, or any other important tips that someone may overlook?

I don’t need any information on kayaking instructions or anything related because i can most likely talk to the rental company about those things.
