Choose And Buy The Right Old Town Kayak.

If so what are your thoughts on a tandem verses solo kayaks…

I have mild neck issues so my husband and I are looking to purchase a tandem (Old Town loon?) kayak thinking it might be a better option to get out onto the water over purchasing solo kayaks. We have never owned a tandem so we were hoping to get some qualified answers. Those with no personal experience need not respond…Thank you.

We just bought a kayak which has a posted weight limit of 250lbs. This is not a problem for me, but my husband is a big guy and weighs about 290 lbs. Would the kayak sink if he tried to take it out on the water? He is able to sit in it, since the opening is pretty wide. What kind of wiggle room is there in terms of the weight limit on a kayak? Thanks.
The kayak is a closed sit-in (not sit-on-top) kayak.

I will be visiting Lake Powell (in Utah) over the summer. I want to go kayaking on the lake, but I don’t know what to do with my (DSLR 0) camera. I’ll be between hotels, so I can’t leave it in my room. Any suggestions? I don’t want to leave it in my rental car (theft, heat).
I don’t think some people read the details - I will be ‘between hotels’, traveling from Kanab to Kayenta, so I can’t keep it at my hotel.

Me and a buddy have a shot to buy 2 Old Town Rush Kayaks in practically new condition with the roof racks, wall mounts, life jackets and paddles for 0… Unfortunately, I don’t know much about pricing these things and don’t want to pay too much for used stuff, even if it is gently used…
I looked at bass pro.com… The old town kayak they are offering that cheap is not the same as the one I’m looking to buy…

I know nothing about kayaking but I’m doing some research hopefully to plan a trip in a month or so.

One thing I cant find, because the answer might be too obvious, is what do you do once you finish paddling?
Your car might be 10 miles behind you. Do places offer some sort of shuttle or taxi? If so how much are they usually?
Would it be better to go in 2 cars and leave one car at the end of the route?
Forgot to mention, yeah I will be going in a group of 2-4, haven’t decided on how many cars we will be taking

Every Spring, the Old Town Canoe company of Old Town, ME has a sale of their blemished canoes and kayaks. They don’t make a big fuss about this event, but the locals seem to know when it happens. There are bargains galore to be had, if you can get there!

I am going to buy my father and me kayaks and I was looking at the otter because it would be the perfect one for our family. But since my father has gained a little weight and stuff, I am a little worried that the otter won’t work out so good for him. It says that it’s capacity is 225lbs and I was wonder if that is just a safety limit and that you can really get 275lbs in and be fine? Which of the two would be better for keeping fit and getting toned Beginning Rock Climbing or Beginning Kayaking? (Its for my health and wellness requirment. These are my two top choices)

Both seem like good sports but Im kind of thinking Rock Climbing would be more of a workout. especially if its beginning.. whereas b. kayaking may just be sitting in the pool floating..

Experienced as in YEARS and trained in cold weather and cold ice specialty for 8 months like they do before Everest. Could you make it if you walked and kayaked?
